Gustav
Well, I must say Hurricane Gustav gave us all quite a scare, but I have not herd of any major damage to any of the staff or students in Louisiana. There was obviously some damage in Southeastern Louisiana but in Lafayette, we have mostly minor damage. Elliott, my room mate, went back home to Slidel to help his family prepare for the storm. Slidel is close to New Orleans, he told me that everything is fine over there they got some heavy winds and lost power but that was the extent of the damage over there. I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers during this time, continue to pray as we clean up some of the mess the rest of the week. Thank you again for your prayers.

Beach Project Update
This summer we have had 3 students come to know Christ. Amen! Off our project I know of 3 that have come to know Christ in Panama City Beach, Florida through the our ministry. So this summer in seven weeks God has brought 6 people to know him; it has been amazing to see him work. Not only that but 55 students have grown in their relationship with God. We have taken them through a vigorous training program for the past seven weeks, and it has radically changed many of their views towards the world and what true Christianity looks like. Please pray for this last week as we try to help these students evaluate what they have learned and try and apply it to their lives back at their respective Universities.

Summer Beach Project Review
This summer there are about 60 people who have committed to grow in their relationship with God and He is honoring their pursuit. We have seen two students come to enter into a relationship with God; many others have solidified their testimonies and are now able to communicate their story in a way that is easy to understand. These students are also learning how to spend time in God's word. Our prayer as staff is that they would develop an absolute love for his world and that they would view their relationship with God as the only thing that provides complete satisfaction. Our theme verse is Psalm 73:25-26; "Whom have I in heaven but you? and besides You, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and heart my fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." God is continuing to use these summers to build life long laborers for his kingdom. Pray Matthew 9:36-38 with me as we ask God to complete his work on this world. "Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd. The He said to His disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest." That is what we are in the business of doing, working in God's harvest field and trying to teach others to do the same. Pray for us. Thank you all for all that you do to build God's Kingdom on earth.

Softball Intramurals
Softball intramural starts Tuesday, I am so excited. This is a great opportunity to get around people share in their life and build relationships with. Our prayer is that God would use this event to enable us to share the gospel with people who are ready to hear it. There are 12 guys on the team who we have met in the weight room and around campus. Please pray with me as I continue to build relationships and share the Gospel with people here at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I am looking forward to this opportunity.
Thursday nights I have been cooking for students at my apartment. We have had a lot of fun doing this and have really began to develop some solid relationships through this little get together. This is a time set aside to help some of our older students facilitate their personal ministry and to help my personal ministry. Last week we cooked Jambalaya, this week I hope to make spaghetti. Continue to pray for ministry opportunities and if you have any suggestions please let me know. Thank you for your prayers and support.

support training weekend
This weekend is a weekend when we are training students on how to raise support. We give a Biblical basis for raising support and help then develop a plan of action for raising support. They are raising support for their summer mission projects. This year we will have three teams one team will be going to Guadalajara Mexico the second will go to Brazil and the third team will be in Panama City Beach Florida. I will be working with the team in Panama City Beach this year. I am telling you all this so that you can pray for this weekend and for the students as they begin to raise the money need to go on these missionary projects.

Updated (Finally)
I want to apologize to everyone who reads this blog. I said that I would be updating it weekly and last year that did not happen. I hope to correct that problem this year. I have a better understanding of my job responsibilities this year and a better idea of what my schedule is going to look like; therefore, this year my life should not be as crazy and theoretically I will be able to keep this blog up to date with video diaries and other pictures from this year. Thank you for understanding and I am looking forward to hearing how much you enjoy staying up to date with what is happening in my life and in the lives of the students here in Louisiana.
